Polyetherimide (PEI)
PEI (polyetherimide) is a high-strength amorphous polymer with excellent heat and flame resistance. It performs continuously to 170° C, making it superior to commodity plastics such as Nylon and Acetal. PEI is an ideal solution for applications that require high strength and the ability to withstand high temperatures. PEI is hydrolysis resistant and highly resistant to acidic solutions and is able to tolerate repeated autoclaving cycles, such as with repeated steam sterilization of reusable medical devices.
Key Properties
- High strength and continuous performance to 170°c
